Voices in Heaven

...Dedicated to the Lord, Jesus Christ

Our journey is important

The New Testament isn't focused so much on salvation, but on discipleship. Discipleship is not a one -time activity, but a commitment to an ongoing, lifelong process. It is the centerpiece of our Christian walk. We are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ Matthew 4:19 "Follow Me, and I shall make you fishers of men." Jesus's focus was the process of getting His followers to Spiritual Maturity! Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior gets you saved and gives you Eternal life in Heaven, and that is wonderful!! After accepting the Lord as our Savior, we then need to start the process of setting aside our time to pursue God, to learn of His ways and to set-aside our old ways. 1 Peter 2:21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in HIs steps. He desires us to be sanctified; separate and not looking like the world.
Read the Bible and form an intimate closeness with Christ. It will cause sensitivity to the heart of God. With an intimate relationship with God (Corinthians 13:12) , that will lead to submission to His ways and then that will lead to obedience. This will allow us to see the harvest and to be blessed as well. But it all starts with relationship with Him. We will then be able to sense or hear God's voice or His leading, through His written or spoken Word through the Holy Spirit, as it relates to you and your life.In Ephesians 4:1-6 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called. We are to live in a way that is practicing obedience, not practicing sin. Place the old thought patterns at the feet of Jesus, and allow God to transform your thoughts.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on this earth (Collosians 3:2), which requires you to filter every thought by the character and nature of God (Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things) When we read in Philippians 2:12 to "Work out your salvation with fear and trembling," it is a constant choice of getting better.
"Christ says, 'Give me all'...No half-measures are any good...Hand over the whole natural self, all the desires which you think innocent as well as the ones you think wicked - the whole outfit. I will give you a new self instead. In fact, I will give you Myself." -C.S. Lewis
I have walked through some very tough and scary valleys.. The process to allow Christ first place in your heart, takes time and discipline to quiet yourself and be obedient to what HE instructs us to do. Do not sin in your anger. Do not allow the enemy to control you, submit your ways to God's ways. Be humble. I am far from knowing it all, and no human has that ability anyway. So smile and know that we are doing this together...joint heirs with Christ! Lift one another up....
Philippians 2:3 Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Challenge yourself today and strive to see others through the eyes of Christ...let us become His disciple through this journey of life He has blessed us with!
Jesus said, ''If you endure to the end, you shall be saved." Matthew 24:13." Our beautiful Savior wants us to endure and He says those that love Him shall receive the Crown of Life (James 1:12).
